Armed with a $5000 grant from 880 Cities and a ton of community creativity, we placed a parklet in front of Astro Coffee on Michigan Avenue to showcase how this 9-lane state highway could function differently. This ignited a city-wide conversation about the future of our streets and led to the creation of the longest protected bike lane in the state of Michigan. You can learn more about this effort here.
