People First Project
Our Knight Cities Challenge winning project, The People First Project, put the art of city making into the hands of 12 people. A hyperlocal fellowship model, The People First Project stewarded $5000 mini-grants and facilitated educational workshops with the leaders in the Tactical Urbanism field, all in the service of moving the needle on a single, sticky infrastructure issue: the width of Michigan Avenue. We also published a special issue of Grand Circus Magazine about the project, and a documentary is forthcoming. Learn more about The People First Project here.
